When we went to Europe last year, we looked into the option of a day trip, but it didn't really work out since we only went to Amsterdam and Brussels and they weren't very long flights. It was much cheaper to fly directly on Delta. But the allure of a day trip hasn't disappeared.
We're now booking a spring trip to Europe and are faced with the same dilemma. Do we fly nonstop or take a day trip (or possibly 2 day trips if we visit different cities on the way to and from our destination)? I would love to visit a new city for a few hours, have lunch and take a walk before getting to our final destination.
The day trip is slightly more expensive (less than $50 difference for the lowest priced one, but if we go to Amsterdam, it would be more), but we would get to see someplace new. Is it worth it? What do we do? So many options! We need to decide soon before the fares go up since it's getting closer and closer to our departure date... but what do we do?
